Debbie Crawford, Adviser Marketing Services

Debbie provides marketing advisory services and outputs within the Division of Sciences.

As the primary marketing point of contact for Sciences' departments and schools, she provides advice and support to portfolio leaders and managers that strengthens the strategic and operational marketing endeavours within the Division.

Debbie works collaboratively with the Marketing Services team and Communications Advisory colleagues to deliver a seamless provision of services for her client portfolio. She also attends and coordinates activities and events on behalf of clients and in conjunction with the Marketing Events team.

Kathryn van Beek, Communications Adviser

Kathryn van BeekKathryn creates stories and content to communicate the work, research and achievements of staff and students in the Division of Sciences. She previously worked for organisations including the University of Auckland, Otago Polytechnic and Dunedin City Council. She has an MA in creative writing from Victoria University of Wellington and a Doctorate of Professional Practice (DPP) from Otago Polytechnic. Her thesis was on the topic of using writing as a tool for positive change.

Angie Hughes, Development Manager

Angie Hughes 2020 imageAs a member of the Development and Alumni Relations Office, Angie ensures the coordination of and support for strategic fundraising projects by working with University of Otago faculty and staff to nurture mutually beneficial relationships with our valued alumni, stakeholders and friends. Through these evolving partnerships students and researchers in the Division of Sciences are able to progress on the multitude of critical concerns facing our local and global community.

Angie comes to the University of Otago with over a decade's experience in post-secondary institutions and non-profits in Australia and Canada and enjoys working with forward-thinking donors, philanthropists and organisations eager to embed enduring positive impact into issues they are passionate about.
