Associate Dean Pacific (Sciences)
Dr Edmond Fehoko is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Human Nutrition and serves as the Associate Dean Pacific (Sciences).
Dr Fehoko’s Associate Dean Pacific role sees him leading the implementation of the Pacific Strategic Framework 2022 – 2030 across the Division of Sciences – University of Otago.

Dr Vanisha Mishra-Vakaoti
Teaching Fellow (Co-ordinator, Pacific Student Support – Sciences)
From Fiji, Vanisha attained her PhD at the Australian National University in Canberra, Australia and has spent over 13 years as a research and teaching consultant. She joins the team in a new role of Teaching Fellow and Coordinator for the team.
Vanisha’s core work includes supporting and growing Pacific postgraduate students in the Division of Sciences.

Bella Culshaw
Pacific Student and Community Support Adviser
Bella Culshaw has joined the Pacific Student and Community Support team after finishing her Master of Science in Neuroscience at Otago. She is proudly of Tongan heritage. Bella also holds a Bachelor of Science, and hopes to begin her PhD in Neuroscience this year.

Marie Taufa
Pacific Student and Community Support Adviser
Marie Taufa, who is proudly Tongan, recently joined the Pacific Student and Community Support team on secondment from the library, where she works as a Library Engagement Assistant – Pacific. She holds a Bachelor of Social Services and brings a strong commitment to uplifting Pacific students and communities, grounded in her values, lived experience, and passion for collective wellbeing.

Losana Taungapeau-Ikahihifo
Pacific Student and Community Support Adviser
With a Bachelor of Teaching from Otago, Losana started her Pacific Student and Community Support role in 2022 and has recently returned from maternity leave.
