HYBRID (Helping You the Bystander Respond and Intervene to Disclosures) is a workshop developed for student leaders around the University. Whether a university club or association exec team, demonstrators and tutors or just someone who wants to lead the way in keeping our university community safe from sexual violence.
This is workshop consist of one two-hour session that includes, discussion, small group work and scenarios to put your learning into practice.
The workshop is designed to empower students to be effective bystanders in their communities, to recognise potentially harmful situations and how to intervene safely. As leaders within the student community, we also want to prepare students with skills on how to respond if someone discloses their experiences of sexual violence. We will cover the statistics on sexual violence in our community, common reactions to sexual violence and we will give you some practical tools to use if someone discloses their experience of sexual violence.
