Student Health at Otago

We are a team of professionals providing high quality health care to students of the University of Otago.

Student Health is centrally located on campus in a purpose built facility. We have approximately 50 staff, comprising nurses, general practitioners, counsellors, psychiatrists and administrative staff.

We endeavour to provide the best health care possible in a manner that is competent, compassionate, confidential, timely and in an atmosphere of mutual responsibility and respect.

You may choose to remain registered at your current GP practice and attend Student Health, as Student Health is not a member of a Primary Health Care Organisation (PHO).

Your feedback is welcomed as we wish to continually improve and develop our services based on the needs of our students. Please take a few moments to complete our online survey or contact us to discuss.

Making an appointment

We provide daily routine and urgent doctor appointments. If you feel you need to be seen in an urgent appointment you will be initially assessed by a nurse (phone call or face to face).

When all urgent appointments have been booked you will be referred to Healthline and/or Dunedin Urgent Doctors & Accident Centre.

At busy times of the year routine appointments may not be available for up to 5 days.
