Ethics summer studentships provide $7,500 for students to research and explore ethical issues facing New Zealand by working on a project under the supervision of an experienced researcher or ethicist over 10 weeks during the summer holidays.

Taranaki Medical Foundation summer scholarships
Each summer, the Taranaki Medical Foundation offers three $8,000 scholarships to medical students from Taranaki to undertake a local research project. These projects are typically eight weeks in length and run between November and February.
Scholarship highlights:
- Work alongside local senior clinicians in hospital or community settings
- Projects cover a range of primary and secondary care topics
- Students are matched with projects after selection, with individual interests considered
- An excellent opportunity to return home, contribute to the region, and build research and clinical collaboration skills
