Students are involved in the local music scene, from playing in orchestras and singing in operas to performing at local music venues. The people at the School of Performing Arts were really supportive and fantastic.

    Sophie Morris

My performance career has included playing roles like Sandy in Grease, Rapunzel in Into the Woods and Sophie in Mamma Mia. I’ve toured in a lot of shows – I was the first female to tour with The Ten Tenors. My work has taken me to stages across New Zealand, Australia and Asia, from theatres to major stadiums where I’ve sung national anthems for international sporting events. I am grateful for my years at Otago – not only did I develop my voice, but I also gained the confidence and versatility to perform and present in many different contexts.
